ASH
A project to preserve and renovate the Star House in the Akabanedai housing complex built in the 1960s.
The existing building "Star House", which features a Y-shaped plan, was created with the aim of securing housing demand in line with the period of high economic miracle. In preserving this building, we wanted to design a state where not only the residents living here but also the local community and the government could intervene and naturally utilize the star house.
More specifically, we design a semi-outdoor space called "Star Gallery" in an existing building to reborn as an artist residence with providing community spaces. Also, creating residents "Art Park" to showcase their art and activate local community to make the entire housing complex lively.
