Hoozuki is a plant that has been familiar to edible since ancient time, and the shape covered by thin fibers is delicate and feels a traditional expression.
This lantern is based on such sensibility and tradition, and uses Kyoto's steel technology, which is now one of the few, to envelop the city of Kyoto with delicate lights.
Using traditional motifs and techniques, it constitutes an abstract and contemporary form, expressing the delicate, overflowing strength from within with light and shadow.
